CBDC — Central Bank Digital Currency
Government-issued digital currency — FORUS infrastructure provides a readiness pathway without premature commitment.
Definition
A Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) is a digital form of a country's fiat currency issued directly by the central bank. FORUS does not issue CBDCs — that authority remains with central banks. Instead, FORUS establishes infrastructure compatible with future CBDC implementations through UDPN's multi-rail interoperability. This provides central banks with technical and operational readiness without requiring premature commitment to any specific CBDC design. The sovereign node architecture ensures that any future CBDC integration respects national monetary sovereignty.
The multi-rail interoperability layer connecting sovereign nodes, compliance frameworks, and cross-border settlement.
Country-specific infrastructure nodes that preserve national economic sovereignty and data custody.
Near-instant clearing using stablecoins, replacing the multi-day settlement cycles of legacy rails.
Regulatory enforcement nodes that programmatically apply jurisdictional rules within the network.
